HTC Butterfly S Officially Leaked

HTC Butterfly S Officially Leaked

HTC has just made the Butterfly S official and it's a significant bump over the first Butterfly. The smartphone is powered by a 1.9GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 - the same as the one in the Samsung Galaxy S4 - and has 2GB of RAM.
It's built around the same 5" display boasting full HD resolution and a pixel density of 440ppi. Internal storage is 16GB, and as is usually the case, HTC has teamed up with Dropbox to provide 25GB of free cloud storage for 2 years. MicroSD card support is available, too
The HTC Butterfly S is supposedly the phone in a few newly leaked images, coming from Chinese website VR-Zone, which, also claims to know a couple of other details. The new HTC Butterfly S, which follows in the footsteps of the J Butterfly (or Droid DNA), is set to be unveiled by the company at a press event in Taiwan on June 19th, but details about the device are pretty scarce at the moment.

The pictures show a device that’s very similar to its predecessor in terms of design. The quoted source says will have a 5-inch Full HD display. This only comes to confirm previous rumors, which were mentioning the same screen size. The website also mentions that the new device would have BoomSound speakers (and you can see that in the pictures, too), thus giving up on the back speaker.
This is seen even more clearly in these other images, which you can take a look at below.Another thing you’ve probably noticed in the images is that the device has the Sense 5 interface on top of Android.
According to previous rumors, the HTC Butterfly S will come with an internal memory of 16GB (but you’ll also get a microSD card slot on board, so you’ll be able to add more to it), a better CPU in comparison to the HTC One, and an Ultrapixel camera. The handset will cost around $670 according to a recent report. Not much else is known about the device, but the launch event is only a week away, so we’re a short while from finding out.

Not much has changed in terms of visuals, and the Butterfly S looks more or less the same as its predecessor, safe for its thickness and different color variations - red, white, gray - and some details here and there. The most prominent of which is the metal ring surrounding the camera glass at the back.
Measuring 144.5 x 70.5 x 10.6mm, the Butterfly S weighs 160 grams and is significantly thicker than before. That's because under the hood, there's a 3200mAh battery, a lot bigger than the original Butterfly's 2020mAh unit. Connectivity options are the usual for a high-end offering and include Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, DLNA, NFC, GPS.
